Fitzroy North Local Business Spotlight: Recharge Osteopathy Clinic

1. What is Recharge Osteo?

Recharge Osteopathy Clinic helps people with muscular and joint pains and injuries to train pain-free or continue to train through an injury. We also run headache / migraine programs that average an 80% reduction in migraine frequency.

(Just a note, we don’t have any physics)

2. How long have you been in business, and what sparked the idea to start it?

We have been in business for 22 years. The idea was to provide a place where high level osteopathy services are easily available to people so that they can that they can get back to training, running, walking or whatever they want to do faster.

Many people think that pain, stiffness and discomfort are just normal.

Recharge helps people find a lifestyle where we aim to get you feeling awesome everyday.

3. Why should people come to Recharge instead of another Osteo/Physio?

We are all trained as osteopaths which means that we look to get better results by finding the underlying cause of pain and problems in the whole body – not just locally where the symptoms are. A lot of problems build up over time and the current symptom has its roots in other tension built up elsewhere in the body.

I have spent the last 30 years training with osteopaths internationally to develop this approach so that we get the full breath of where issues are being held in the body.

We also have done extensive study in gentle indirect techniques that aim to get the most complete resolution of tension that the body can get on that day, which we find in some cases can work better than standard massage and manipulation. This can be particularly helpful for headaches and migraines, or chronic pains that aren’t responding to other treatment.

All out osteopaths train in our Recharge Academy – our weekly internal training so that we can all do these approaches and get excellent realists for all our clients.

4. Why is supporting local important to you?

We have an amazing local community of shops and services in Clifton Hill / Fitzroy North. Many people don’t realise what’s available and only go to the same places over and over.. Helping support other businesses in the area means that the people who live here get better aweness of all these amazing services and great offerings right here in their local area.

5. What’s been your biggest lesson as a business owner?

Set up your services around your client’s needs – not what you do. For example, we have niched into headache and migraine management. We depended our knowledge and training in this area so that our service is better for that niche. We didn’t just say “we can treat necks and headaches” like everyone else. This helped us develop a reputation and in turn referrals for helping these issues. It helps the business and helps people finds who need our services.

6. Where do you see alignment with what you do and 5th Element Wellness?

I think it’s a a perfect synergy. We are always asked about what exercises people should be doing. Knowing and understanding what 5EW does and having you so close make it a great service for referring some of our clients to.

Likewise, if people are not training because of pain, injury or headaches, we can help them train more and use your services more regularly and reach their goals – increasing their level of satisfaction with your gym.

We make each other look better by having such quality services supporting what we are doing.

7. Where can people find you?

324 Queens Parade , Fitzroy North. A couple of doors down from Baker’s Delight.
